OVERVIEW

SCHEDULE of EVENTS

1) ALL ENTRIES SHOULD BE RECEIVED BY April 5, 2026

2) An entry fee of at least $50.00 per team is suggested – BUT not required
(all entry fees + any donations will be given to the Ga. Baptist & Methodist Children’s Homes)

3) Entry is open to Christian organizations only! (one team per church/organization)

4) Five categories will be judged (cakes do not count toward Grand Champions)
Bar-B-Que Boston Butt (pulled or sliced - made from Boston Butts)
Chicken Halves (2 halves)
Spare Ribs (NO Baby Back ribs allowed) St. Louis style preferred (at least 6 ribs, sliced/separated)
BBQ Sauce (prepared ahead of time)
Cake (prepared ahead of time) each team can have only (1) cake entry. PASTORS FROM CHURCHES WILL JUDGE CAKE ENTRIES

5) All grilled entries must be grilled on site at the event. (no marinating ahead of time) begin cooking aytime after daylight

6) Each team will supply their own grill.
(charcoal and/or wood)

7) Judging times for meats: Chicken-4:00, Ribs-4:30, Boston Butt-5:00

8) Winners will be selected by blind style judging.

This event is designed to bring area churches together in friendly Christian competition and fellowship, while at the same time, raise funds for two worthwhile charities.

There will be gospel singing beginning around 10 am. Bring your lawn chairs to enjoy the singing that will be outside.

BBQ chicken or pork plates will be sold, beginning at 11 a.m. and going until about 4:30 p.m.

$10.00 per person buys a BBQ plate with the trimmings and a pass to sample the competition BBQ pork, Chicken, & Ribs after the judging is completed.

Remember, all of the proceeds go to the Childrens’ homes.

9:00 am. - Team meeting (inside school house)

10:00 am. - Gospel singing
begins.

2:00 pm. - Judging begins with cakes

3:30 pm. - Sauce will be judged
4:00 pm. - Chicken will be judged
4:30 pm. - Ribs will be judged
5:00 pm. - Butts will be judged

6:00 pm. - Cake Auction

6:30 pm. - Awarding of trophies
